The Truth Behind The Laser Tattoo Removal Process

Many people believe that one session is all it takes to remove their tattoo.  This is a common misconception.  Even with the state of the art Astanza Trinity laser we use at Ink Away, it will take on average six to twelve sessions to completely remove a tattoo, depending on the size, shape, and location of the tattoo.

In total, it will take around a year to fully remove a tattoo.  There is a healing period of four to six weeks in between each removal session.  During these weeks, your body is still working to break down the ink and rid it from your body from the last session you had.  If you do not wait the four to six weeks, your tattoo will not have time to heal from the previous session.

Although the laser plays a role in removing your tattoo, you also play an equal role.  The lifestyle you live affects the amount of time it takes for your tattoo to be removed.  People who live healthier lifestyles will find that their tattoos are removed more quickly than those who live unhealthy lifestyles.

Things you can do to improve your lifestyle for a quicker removal are to drink lots of water, exercise, and avoid smoking and consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.  The immune system helps break down the ink from your tattoo, so the healthier the immune system, the easier it will be for your body to break down the ink particles and carry them out of your body.

The laser tattoo removal process is different for everyone, but typically you can expect around six to twelve treatments with four to six weeks in between each treatment.  Overall, the laser tattoo removal is an easy process and shows great results in the end.
