Smoking And Drinking Negatively Affects Laser Tattoo Removal

Before laser tattoo removal, it is best to avoid smoking and drinking.  These two things can significantly slow down the process of removing the tattoo.  The immune system is what breaks down the ink and removes it from your body, so the healthier immune system, the better.

Smoking can make your tattoo fade slower than normal.  This is because after smoking, your body works hard to remove the pollutants that enter your body from a cigarette, so your body has less time to fade the tattoo.  Smoking also reduces the amount of circulation at the surface of your skin.  Poor circulation slows down the blood flow, making it harder for the body to carry the ink away.

Drinking has similar affects on tattoo removal as smoking does.  Alcohol dehydrates the body, which is not good when trying to remove a tattoo.  Alcohol can also affect the liver and kidneys.  This is a problem because the liver and kidneys help remove the ink from your body.

Before treatments, drinking water instead of alcohol will be much more effective in speeding up the process and you are more likely to have less complications this way.  Not smoking before treatments is also a great way to get the job done better and quicker.
